Similarities between USA and India:

(1) People, in USA and in India, walk on two feet, see with two eyes, hear with two ears, etc.

(2) They have a Hollywood in USA and a Bollywood in India, to make good (or bad) movies.

(3) Many foreigners have been migrating to USA, thereby generating an inhomogeneous society. Many foreigners have migrated to India, thereby having generated an inhomogeneous society.

(4) Mountains, deserts, rivers, coasts, etc generate beautiful and varied landscapes in USA and in India.

Differences between USA and India:

(1) Most north-European-origin people in USA fail to develop lifelong husband-wife relationship and either remarry or live as singles. Most people in India live as families of husband-wife-children.

(2) People in USA work in teams and on interrelated projects. People in India work as individuals and on unrelated projects. (A road in India was in a bad shape for many years; Works Dept repaired it; Telephone Dept dug it up next week.)

(3) People in USA are driven by looking ahead for a future. People in India are hampered by looking back into the past.

(4) Most buildings in USA (at least in California) are made of wood. Most buildings in India are made of bricks.

(5) People spend times and resources to make wonderful roads in USA, and buildings in India.

(6) Throwing trash outside designated trashboxes is a social and legal crime in USA. Trashboxes are rarely heard of in India.

(7) Doctors are costly and available-only-on-prior-appointment in USA. Doctors are cheap and available-around-the-clock in India.

(8) Turnover of employees in an organization is generally very high in USA. Organizations in India rarely change their employees.

(9) Average distance between work and home is fifteen miles in USA, and one mile in India. Most people use cars in USA, and scooters in India.

(10) Corporations induce or halt changes in USA; governments induce or halt changes in India. (They still use inches and ounces in USA.)

(11) Bagging and donations are centralized in USA, and decentralized in India.

(12) Insurance is an important instrument to live (or die) in USA. People can live (and die) in India by not having insurance.
